Here is 10 year old Andy, son of KG2RG and KC2ETX. Andy is working a couple of stations on the big 20 meter band. The station belongs to his Dad, KG2RG. The station is an Icom 756 pro, Hiel ICM, Heathkit SB200, 600 watts into a Mosely 33 up 55 feet.

This is something you people over there have that we don’t, I’m sure I could’ve interested our kids more if only they were allowed to make a contact under my supervision, who knows, probably the xyl too. It must be great having the radio as a family activity. Anyway, nice job Dad, did he steal your shack yet?

The dad has the license. He is the station operator. Anyone operating under him can use his call sign and any privileges permitted under his license. Not illegal.

You need a real radio like a cobra 2000 or a ranger, thems big radios unlike them crappy icoms or yazuus, man my antrons got 60 dolby an talks rings around the best ham beam, it takes a professional to do cb
just go search a video called ‘ anti ham radio cbs are better ‘ by redneckmikesr and he shows yall why, hams are jealous cause they dont have fancy stuff like echo mikes
The licensed dad is the control operator. the kid can transmit anything permitted under his dad’s license. This gives his dad responsibility for the kid’s transmittion. This is not illegal.
It’s fine. His father is the control operator…does not matter whose voice it is.
