Should the President be policed in person by 4 Federal Judges to deter him from violating the Constitution?

by Admin on March 10, 2010

In a national emergency, the president should be able to obtain extraordinary permission from the Supreme Court to “temporarily” circumvent a law.

However, should Congress elect Federal Judges who have top-security clearance and grant them unrestricted access to all the president’s communications, which would include listening in-person to everything the president says in the performance of his (or her) duties, and to everything others tell the president officially; and reviewin all the president’s documents so they can warn the president that something he is planning to do is a violation of the Constitution.

To eliminate error or controversy, government technicians would record all the president’s official communications and save them in secret databases.

If the president executes an unconstitutional action, the judges would report it to Congress and the Supreme Court, and as part of their investigation, both branches could listen behind closed doors to the recordings.

Members of the Supreme Court are appointed by the President subject to the approval of the Senate. To ensure an independent Judiciary and to protect judges from partisan pressures, the Constitution provides that judges serve during “good Behavior,” which has generally meant life terms. How would congress elect a judge its unconstitutional for the obvious reason the Congress is partisan by the majority party.Beside how could Bill Clinton have invited Monica in for a hummer,if congress was listening in ,wouldn’t that be tacky.
Your not the brightest bulb in the chandelier are you?Nothing personal but you might want to get educated on the U.S political system and process before you suggest overturning the constitution.

Surely, you jest! You are dreaming. Wake up and smell our beauracratic goings on in Washington.

The Boston Globe had an article on May 28, 06 entitled “Cheney’s office searches all bills for limits on presidential power.”

This was preceded by the NYT article, 12-24-05 entitled, “Aleto’s Zeal for Presidential Power.”

These cites, (brought out in my question a week ago), “Washington, we have a problem…” elucidates the answer to your “question” completely, I think.

If you don’t want to peruse the citations–and I had only ONE answer to my question–(which shows our overpowering lack of interest in the political process); at least go back and read IT. You can learn at least the gist of the articles cited.

Sadly, this episode proves to me that few care that the executive branch is becoming ALL POWERFUL, disregarding the “checks and balances” of the other branches.

Your profile indicates to me that you have this “thing” about federal judges–perhaps now it is time that you should really investigate their loss of power these days.

By the way, many Executive Orders are in place, only needing a signature by “the right person”, (and your federal judges don’t even have to be involved).
