HF took a HPT, showed one line (negative). How sure can I be that the test accurately/successfully done?

she said she followed the directions and it came back negative. I have a feeling that since one line showed up (meaning it is negative) that the test was done properly done. i would think that if no lines showed up then it wasnt done right, am i right to assume that? any helps is [...]
